Sorry I had to !!!

To the OP:
If you're 100% for sure that you already have a 7600GT PCI express video card, then I say pull the trigger on that newegg cart you linked to a few posts ago. That is a KILLER build on a budget! You've got me thinking of building one myself.

P35 mobo - mmmmmmmm
e2160 - Oh yeah! 3.0GHz easily!
2GB Gskill - C'mon, Gskill makes GREAT RAM!
Centurion 5 case - budget case, but stylish and decent airflow

What is NOT to like about that build? If I could live with myself, I'd sell off my current rig to buy the board, CPU, and RAM to replace it with! Seriously...buy it now! That is truly and honestly a killer build .

AMD has at the moment better MB chipsets in the IGP arena than Intel. I though that was what QuickS was referring to. For standard chipsets they are about the same.

The original poster should have mentioned the 7600gt to begin with. The fact that he has a discrete card creates a situation that AMDs strength (budget IGP based platforms) is moot in the argument.
ORIGINAL POSTER: Go with the intel chip. E2xx0's are great, please don't whine about the pentium name, if you do, it just means you have not done you homework. Overclock on a P35 with a E2xx0 should be easy so you can push it up with no effort to a reasonably overclock( 2.6ghz probably) with out to much hassle.

If you don't know much about overclocking you should get the 5000 Black Edition and a 780 chipset mobo and use the 7600gt as the graphics card. In the future, you will have some room for overclocking.

Depending on the applications you run, you might not need all the power that overclocked Intel chips produce over AMD, shop within your needs bro.

Any dual core can multi-task to a extent, if multi-tasking is your goal, go with a quad.
