Yep! im gonna get rid of the aluminum for many reasons and find a copper block to start hacking on to make some turbulance...Im thinking of a pin idea but havent come up with any ideas...

yeah I will run this whole loop offline for a week or more to make sure my joints are all tight the real test will come when I clamp it down i think. I am also becoming a Bong expert at the moment so keep watching for the BIG BONG UPDATE comming soon.
the idea is to have a large res under the bong to keep from having to refill it daily.

I was also thinking of coating my mobo in some of that liquid electric tape crap...I havent looked into its usefullness yet but ive seen people slather it all over their rig lol

I personally wouldn't coat the board in anything. I figure that i've already swallowed how many hundreds to build a nice loop.. I'll leak test the bejesus out of it and leave it at that. Covering the board in some kind of goop can only raise temperatures and possibly be a fire hazard in my eyes.

Raising temperatures = bad
Fire Hazard = bad No Comment

well i think normaly people do it to reach sub amb temps. and if im gonna get all crazy with a bong I might want to think about making sure my mobo dosnt get condencation on it! that would be BAD!
How do you keep condencation off your board?

Did you read the whole thread? I have spent about 10 bucks on this loop and dont plan on spending more then $50 in all.

Yeah I would just go ahead and grease the socket and proof it...You can do it for 20 bux and a half hours work....Old rubber mouse pads work pretty well as neoprene...

Or you can just grease you socket and use liquid tape on it,,,You can peel it off if you want to...No need to spend a lot on a inexpensive mobo...

Yeah that should pulling you well down below ambient, it wont be as bad since you live where there is low humidity, its still a concern though...

I'd seal around the socket with a little red Permatex RTV sealant, you can get it at any auto parts stores, it comes in a tube...After that dries pack you socket with grease, you can find that locally at the auto parts store to, its just spark plug boot grease..Then put on the liquid tape, front and back around the socket area....

I get this at Wal-Mart in the boating stuff, its around $5 bux a can, that should be more then enough...Grease down the can threads with a little baby oil or something and tighten it down well between uses and it lasts a good long while...The baby oil helps to keep it from sticking lid to can...

If once you get it made and if its pulling you way below ambients then I would use foam pipe wrap on the tubing and wrap your block in neoprene to stop condensation...See what kind of temp's you get before you go all out on it...Hey its good practice proofing your mobo anyway, you might want to do a TEC or chiller later on anyway..You like playing with this stuff, so thats really the next step on up......

Yeah Ira-k that is the stuff I saw all over this guys rig...he coated his mobo and gpu in that crap and he was pushing super cold temps it was amazing...I didnt realize it was so damn cheep ill grab some asap! I dont know why all boards dont come with this crap lol

I dont mean to question you Ira-k but why would I want to put grease on the chipset? is that how you insolate it from condensation? WOW thats kinda scarry when I think about it but anything you say man! your the Jedi master and im the young padiwan (I know some damn starwars geek is gonna correct me on that somehow).

No don't just listen to me, get out and do some research...Thats half the fun......If you don't grease your socket it can get condensation in there and short you out, it can also cause pin rot, you pins will corrode on out..Anytime my rig starts acting a little flakey i'll pop out the chip and check it, many a time I've had a few drops of water in there bridging a couple of pins, dump it out or blow it out and its fine a gain...
