A good overclock motherboard

Thread Starter
Hey guys. I just got out of school at 3:00 PM today. I decided to celebrate, I would upgrade my comp. Right now this is what I got in my basket.

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/P...hListTitle=New

I wasn't sure weather or not to get a 2nd 8000GT (Already have one) or to get a single 9800GTX (What I have in basket). Getting another GT would be cheaper, But How well do you think I could run Crysis at 1680 x 1050 with 2 8800GT's???

Also, I need a good motherboard. I currently have a 780i But the northbridge heats up really hot and I just can't seem to get it to OC. Any recommendations on a good mobo for OC'ing with an E8500? Thanks

Cheap: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
Expensive: DFI X38

edit: put a fan over the NB and get another 8800GT for $150-ish, theyr awesome in SLI and blows a 9800GTX away

I would get one 8800GTS....then you can go for sli'd 8800GTSs in the future. Also get this PSU-

Bit better than the antec IMO.

Also spend the extra on this HDD-

Maxtor are alright, but I would prefer a seagate anyday.

This is fantastic RAM for a bit less -

The evga 750i FTW is a great SLI board if you want to ditch the 780i.

Ok thanks, but I think I want to go with a mobo that has ability for SLI. So could someone tell me a good OC'ing mobo that has SLI capability?

Many comparisons of the entire range of nvidia cards shw that 2x 8800gt will not run crysis over 25fps min at 1680/1050 2AA

if you can afford it get a Stock GX2 and a Asus P5k p35 mobo
and change the ram for some OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-9200C5 1150MHz Flex II
if you an find it for sub $200 - we can get it for £99 in the uk

ChielScape I disagree , I think the Striker II Extreme is much better than the Striker II NSE.
