I have PowerDVD setup to output the audio through S/PDIF because if I choose 6 speakers, my sound card drivers output everything in DTS, DD, or PCM.

I want the audio thats actually on the DVD/BD with no "conversions" and using the S/PDIF option is the only way Ive found that to be possible.

The only problem is, I have occasional audio dropouts with the S/PDIF option.

If I switch it to 6 speaker and let my sound card drivers output the audio there are no dropouts.

The audio dropouts arent constant, maybe 10-15 times during an entire movie and only for a split second but its still aggravating.

It doesnt matter if Im playing a disc from the optical drive or an image on my hard drive, it occurs either way.

Ive tried two different optical cables and it happens with both.

Ive tried reclock but it doesnt help.

Sorry if this has already been covered, I couldnt find anything that matched my problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
