8800GS is a amazing card indeed. I get 33fps 1280*1024 all high in crysis benchmark with only a 3700+ @ 2.8Ghz. COD4 i have it maxed @ 1280*1024 and the fps never go below 50.

I scored 14.4k in 3d 06' w/ one of meh vmod'd 8800GS's.. they are wonderful little GPU's.

..just thought you guys might appreciate me sharing..a pair of newly mod'd GS' I finished for a member here on the forum. These do over 800mhz core/ 2000mhz shader with ease.

Haha good one. Gee I wonder what is the most I can get for my Q6600 GO [VID:1.2625] GUARANTEED 3.6 Ghz with 1.4 Vcore (dependent on OC capability of mobo and Vdroop factor). Good cooling required! My cousin wants to buy it for $150 cash.

SLi will not work on my X48 mobo..even with my driver modding skills.. and I would have to swap 4x GPU's around, just to pop these into my 975x to test SLi @ 8x8x.. not really something I care to go forward with.

Keep in mind, these GPU's have yet to see aftermarket cooling.. with which I can squeeze at least another 100mhz out of the core and shaders.. NP. I do have GPU blocks on the way.. once installed, I plan on benching at max GPUv..attempting for 900+mhz on the core and 2200mhz+ for shader clocks.

Update with E8600 4.5 Ghz and 8800 GS OC 700/1750/2000
As you can see there is a slight FPS bump at 1024x768, around 10 fps, but once you go above that, there is absolutely no difference from an Q6600 at 3.6 Ghz

In fact, during gameplay I noticed more stutter when compared with my Q6600, obviously because of the lack of the extra 2 cores. In addition, I noticed close to 100% usage of both cores at 4.5 Ghz when performing normal tasks including having multiple windows and applications running (more processes). In comparison, my Q6600 at 3.6 Ghz rarely goes above 60% when I am running my normal day to day operations. Therefore I am returning my E8600 OC 4.5 Ghz at 1.39 vcore BIOS 1.37 vcore Windows and keeping my Q6600. I wonder if I should save my $269 - $40 (restocking fee) or put it towards a new video card. hmmm decisions decisions

looking at this video card XFX GTX 260 Black Edition, does anyone know when it will be available?
