hey duckie what do you recommend if im going to use 100-150$ on a raid system?

Go to the EVGA website and do a support search for your board. The motherboard manual will have all the instructions you need, if your board supports RAID.

No, it does not increase the probability of failure. However, the array will inherit the storage size of the smallest drive and performance of the slowest components.

Ahh... please understand what RAID means first.

RAID = Redundant Array of Independent Disks.

Two words out of four in the meaning already indicate that you can't RAID one drive.

johnnyfive: What you're doing is considered thread hijacking. Start your own thread and members will be glad to help you.

In answer to your question, you need two drives, not just the one raptor. The manual for your board is available through download at the manufactur's site. GL

I see. Yes, I'm a noob. Checking board manual. It would seem that I have some reading to do. I thought that you could set the performance index on a single drive? I am confused now.
