[Crymod] No 1.3 Patch - Page 3

People say that because it runs like crap when compared to Unreal or w/e

However, CryEngine can render the earth at once without any performance hit. At the end of the day the CryEngine is a rendering engine which does one hell of a good job when it isnt rendering in real time.

The SP was a blast.....but *** Crytek.....this is a joke. The MP had so many issues, and never even had a chance. Now they say it's over after TWO patches? Two patches in half a year.....epic fail.

I got so sick of hearing Cevat Yerli's BS propaganda....I mean he is so full of crap. I remember him saying that the best choice of setup for Crysis is quad core over higher clocked dual core, and that x64 will yield %15 (or so) more FPS. What a joke.

If their reason for this is to dedicate more time to release the next installment of Crysis, then I'm all for it. I have given up on the MP aspect of the game anyhow.

How can games like COD4 look pretty much as good as Crysis, yet perform 10x better?
COD4 looks good and all, but it's nowhere near the look of Crysis. The textures have a much lower res than Crysis, and the lighting effects just don't compare.

Crytek probably should have limited the graphical settings to medium to keep all you people from crying, saying that it's unoptimized........it would still look better than any game on the market. I get 60FPS at 1920x1080 with everything on high but shadows, and I can set a few on very higher while maintaining 35-75 FPS.

I'm not surprised, since when have benchmarks needed to be constantly patched?

I disagree, IMHO COD4 looks much better than Crysis. As for you saying that COD4 uses lower resolution textures, that isn't true at all. If anything Crysis uses mismatched low resolution and high resolution textures throughout the game. Some of the textures in Crysis are so low resolution that they look like they could of been from cs 1.6. On the other hand COD4 uses a consistent amount of high resolution textures instead of mismatching high resolution and low resolution textures like Crysis. I also prefer COD4's lighting and DOF over Crysis's.

Wasn't there supposed to be a patch to unlock hidden performance enhancements once the hardware caught up to the technology? I guess that was just some BS. I guess I can look at it this way; now that I am bored with Crysis, it will make a great fancy looking beer coaster

Did they ever get their anti-cheat working? PB for x64?

You want proof? Go play COD4, TF2, and Bioshock and report how many fps you got in all three of those games and than play Crysis and tell me how many fps you get on it maxed out without AA or AF. When you realize that you get over 4X as many fps in the three games that I listed over Crysis yet some of those games actually look better than Crysis you will realize that Crysis is severely unoptimized. I mean, I have seen people get 3fps in Crysis maxed out with sli 8800GT's, what can look so amazing to the point where two 8800GT's in sli only get you 3fps?

Crysis surely doesn't look nearly good enough to be getting 3 fps on a system like that. That would mean that it would have to look around 26X better than COD4 which obviously isn't the case at all. Four 9800GX2's cant even max it out and Cevat or w/e his name is lied about how well that it would run and scale with X64 and quad cores.

You could also take a look at FarCry compared to HL2 which were both released around the same time period and see that HL2 uses way higher resolution textures and it looks way better than Farcry yet there wasn't a card out during the release of Farcry that could even run the game on high yet when HL2 was released it could be ran maxed out on most systems yet it looks way better than Farcry. That is proof right there that Crytek does a terrible job when it comes to making their games run good.
