heatsink & fan suggestions

Thread Starter
What are some good heatsink & fans that I should get? I will be using this for a gaming PC and the processor will be an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz LGA 775. I want a heatsink that is not overly expensive, something no more expensive then $40.

Here are two I was looking at (They would work with that processor and socket type, right?):

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835101011

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835186134

So are those two good heatsinks and fans? Which one would you say would be better, or is there another one I didn't list you would recommend?

Thanks for any help.

I think I paid 49.99 for my TT Big Typhoon VX. It works pretty well. But it isnt nearly the best out there. With a big overclock the temps get very high under load. For some reason those links you posted arnt working for me???

The freezer is a relatively well-known budget cooler, most people have good stories to tell about it.
I've personally not heard of that ASUS cooler.

I decided to screw the $40 limit on a heat sink as I found this one.

Is this good?

Just to chime in here, have you looked at FrostyTech's website for the top 10 air cooling solutions.

That website is totally geared to air cooling solutions and rates those solutions on various configurations.

Take a serious look at this link and ponder what your options are for the price you can afford. http://www.frostytech.com/top5heatsinks.cfm
