Need a Overclocking Software (INTEL)

Thread Starter

I am using a intel D975XBX2 Q6600 2.40Ghz and I have seens a really cool program to I can adjust this hardware. I do not like Riva Tuner 2.0 for my XP Pro 32bit. I wouldn't mine trying out clockgen but can not fine the download.

Show my the free download for pll control looks nice. A full parameter overclocking software is what I need. ANYONE? Here is PLL Control in action on Utube

.

Thx!

Huh?

By the way, Rivatuner is for NVidia GPU overclocking, and Clockgen and PLL Control is for CPU.
Seeing as you posted in the NVidia section, Clockgen and PLL Control are not what you're looking for.

Motherboard overclocking via software is generally not recommended.
Once again...

Restart your pc and press delete when it starts up. Best overclocking software there is. We call it the BIOS.

Huh? Maybe I need to put something in the google search engine besides overclocking software. Again I am looking for software besides pll control riva tuner and/or Clockgen. Those just don't put a handle on it like the big boy's toy's controllers. It shouldn't be this hard to have a strong software with full parameters. Like I told ya b4.

Well unfortunately, it is. The best way hands down is to use BIOS. Like DuckieHo said, it's not recommended to use software at all. Unstable, causes problems with your clock generator, just bad stuff. The software you have is all the better it's going to get. With Intel, you can only play with the PLL through clockgeb, SetFSB, CPUCooL, and that might be it. I used CPUCooL on my old intel and it worked, but nothing has power like BIOS.

Also with software you can't control the voltage for the most part because that's controlled from the BIOS, not a program that changes it on the spot, that could end up bad. So you will be very limited in your overclock.

:EDIT: RivaTuner is for your GPU.

I don't think he can, Intel doesn't allow for Overclocking in boards that aren't super high end I don't think.

:EDIT AGAIN: I guess he can use BIOS in this board

My bad. Haha. yeah, BIOS FTW!!!

I've been told over and over again not to use software for overclocking, use the BIOS.

I believe that is a relatively new development, even so, I don't think software would suddenly allow him to overclock. But it is certainly worth looking into.
