For that price you could prob find a laptop with an 8800M GTX
They're alright, but the quadro peforms a few hundred 3Dmarks above the MBP. The important thing about this laptop is how extremely well built and reliable it is, it's practically a tank, and its small and thinner. If you look above, there is a laptop above that someone suggested for 1300$, [minus its lame 3 year warranty] that has an 8800GTSm 512.

suggest me some laptops, if you know any that are that price with an 8800GTX

That's also a downside, I will almost always have my laptop plugged in, but that's why I really don't want a laptop meant just for gaming. The weight/battery. That's why I think the T61 is good for its money, it can still play BF2142 [its quadro card is equivalent to a 8600 256, and thats what i use to play BF2142 when i go home].

My vote in for the ThinkPad, my T42 has been used as a weapon (sitting in a coffee shop, someone tried to grab it and run, I smacked him over the head with it...) and still works great.

On top of that, ThinkPads are generally unbeatable in quality; the design is about as perfect in a laptop as you can get, and the keyboards are a pure dream to type on.

I'm totally pleased with my T61. I use it mainly for work, but i have gamed on it as well.
The GPU is, as previously stated, mainly a business graphics proc, but it holds up alright on older games. I also dropped a 2 gig ram stick in it, to bump it up to 3gigs, and it is quite noticable.

thats good :] like i said, at most i'll play SC or BF2142 on it, not major games, as gaming laptops kill the batteries. thanks for the the personal experience, rep+

if anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to send em to me!
