Game Master Problems

Thread Starter
Well I just finished putting together my game master system yesterday; and I have a few problems that need fixing.

For starters the BIOS says that my CPU's temperature is over 80 degrees Celsius. Called in a tech to look at it, he re-applied thermal grease (artic Silver) but it still reads out as very high. Thing is CPU does not shut down or restart for awhile, and when we felt the heat sink it was only warm, not hot as was expected. Tech tried ignoring it for the time being; thinking it was a faulty sensor, if not built in safety feature should restart it.. New problem now.

Got to the install point for Vista which took forever, and when instructed to install windows it say's please wait, and then shuts down the computer. Checked all connections, they are good. Hard drive is recognized by the BIOS. BIOS totally messed up settings for most major components, so had to set them up manually; but may be abit off. Would like to know proper settings for Q6600 and G.skill 2x2GB 1066 speed RAM. Will get in touch with new egg about these problems when I can, but it's the week end...

okay wait so your bios is just messed? you might wanna flash to the newest bios and if not just rma the board cuz of the faulty temp sensor. Your gonna need the sensor if you want safe overclocking in the future.
