The only bad thing is they are an open loop and it doesn't take long to get the crud growing in it, you really can't run many biocides in it because its vaporized into the room air...A little Lysol can help, but it can get pretty hard on the lungs to...The water evaporates like mad, you have ot replenish it often, in a dry climate it would evaporate even faster...I've seen a few guys use a ball valve off a toilet connected to a water line to keep them topped off...
