Today i've bought myself an POV 8800gt and an asus p5n-e sli...i've tryied making some overclocks....in bios...i've just set the fsb at 1500mhz....the other option i couldn'd find it....in rest...everything is stock in bios...my processor is Intel e6420...i've managed to get it from 2.1 to 3.0ghz....and with rivatuner i've oc'd the video card at 700/1750/999(clock/shader/memory)...i've tryied even to oc the ram(2xkingstone 667mhz modules) at 700...for a time everything was oke...i've played crysis for an hour...and it crashed...the monitor didn't received any signal at all(this was the simptom)...i've touched the Ram...they were very hot....i've put them on stock clocks...after another our of crysis...the same thing...what i'm doing wrong???Btw...i didn't touched the voltages in bios...and in riva tuner i've put the fan at video card at 50%.....and i get this crash....how can i fix it???Please help....and sorry for my bad english....

You generally don't want to just jump in and start overclocking... read up on it first dude! There are plenty of guides on this site... it's not just a matter of upping some settings and then gaming - it's a very delicate process!

Upping any frequency on your computer is going to make it run faster, but at some point it's going to become unstable... After changing any settings, you want to use a stability testing program (like Orthos or Prime95 for the CPU or ATItool's artifact scan for video cards) to make sure that your new settings are stable...

Really you didn't do anything wrong, but someone can't just hope to clock a Pentium 3 to 10ghz and it will happen.

voltages help to keep the high frequency's on the cpu and ram. They do increase heat however. All the new ram now comes with heat spreaders to disapate the heat. If your afraid of your ram dying of heat, simply don't clock it that fast.

It won't hurt to up the voltage on your CPU to keep it at 3ghz but i think the stock voltage is enough for 3ghz.

If you want to clock the 8800GT that high of clocks, you might wanna up the fan speed to keep it stable.

Lastly, don't automatically overclock everything (CPU, RAM, GFX card) and be confused which thing is not stable. Find the stable clocks for each compoment 1 at a time and find the best combination you can come up with.

Check your temps, the CPU should be under 65c, and the video card should be under 90 or so.

back your 8800 down to 675/1700/975 and try again..... Also it sounds like you OC'd everything and just went to gameplay.. Have you run any stability tests on CPU? OCCT or Prime95

It could be the 430W too... what does it spec to

8800gt needs +12V - 24A or +12V1-18A +12V2-18A

That might not matter. What are your load temps for your CPU and video card?
