That's a comparison between the 5600+ and the 6000+ on transcoding a dvd9 to dvd5.
A 5600+ is 2.8ghz, but for $30 less you probably won't regret that 36 second difference...

The 6000+ runs at 3.0ghz stock. I have a 5600+ that I run at 3.3ghz 24/7. Much cheaper. But if you don't like overclocking get a 6000+ (3.0ghz) or a 6400+ (3.2ghz). Expensive but easy....

But see the problem is that I know nothing and I mean nothing about overclocking. If I did I would be buying the best CPU for overclocking and Watercool it along with Memory (RAM) and a great power supply. I do not know noothing about bios. I know how to put the computer together and hope it turns on with windows if not I have to go to Bios and hope I can find out why it want boot up. trust me when I say I want to build this computer fast I would like it to be fast (at least 3.0) I just wish I was smart enough to understand this overclocking stuff. I am not really careing about the price to an reason, but I have a small room and it does get hot in here. so doesnt overclocking make it get hotter.

Thats why I said to get the 6000 or the 6400+, already at the top speed. Nothing to do. But close to 200 dollars for the 6400+, maybe 180 if you find a good source. But it would be running at 3.2ghz right out of the box! No overclocking, just plug it in and go.

I can get it for $163 the the 6400+ but from what I here it will be hot all the time, makeing my room hot since it runs 14 hours a day. is the 9850 phenom amd CPU and good it is a 4 core and would that make it cooler. I am also thinking of getting a the ASus motherboard Crosshair, but I am getting at least 2gigs in ram just dont know which one yet.

you know those are meant for overclockers, right?
they have unlocked multipliers...
so if you're not going to overclock a 5000+ BE, then that's like spending extra money on a regular 5000+

I looked at this one site for doing this 5000+ BE Overclocking and it looked easy so I was going to try it on the next CPU I get.
