OK, I got a real strange feeling about my videocard ... I noticed I'm not able to OC it anymore in the CCC after playing around a bit with Riva Tuner and so last week ... now I'm still not able to change it (uninstalled Riva tuner and stuff) as it keeps mentioning 'overdrive capabilities have not been properly initialized" ... And running 3DMark06 now just for testing, I suddenly had a screen full of garbage ... maybe ****ed up something here? See if I can get it back on standard somehow ...

I just hope this isn't causing all the other problems because that would be like real stupid

Nope ... same values ... the strange thing is every now and than after x times having to reboot, I get like maybe 100 possible steps in there (going all the way up to 1.9v or so!) and red values as of 1.2 or so ...

I've had issues with CCC and rivatuner together - may want to unistall CCC and just install the display driver and run rivatuner to clock the card - if that is doable with the 3870 X2 (not sure).

The board does realize you have a Q9450 right?

Yes, the BIOS clearly states I have a Q9450@266 GHz ... that's why I had to install v1.3 in the first place ('borrowed' an old P4 541 in order to upgrade my BIOS because I couldn't boot with this one)

OK ... still the same problems ... though it does boot all the way with FSB 417, it blue screens me once I try to run Everest's stress test ... Now I really have to go to bed as it's almost 2am here and I still have to walk the dog (and get out at 6.30 in the morning ... ouch!)

Try booting up with only one stick of ram and running the stress test at 417FSB again, if you get the Blue screen again trade out the stick for the other stick and test it. And for kicks, when you really loose your mind, just bump the FSB up to about 465 or so and see if you can get it to boot there, you could have a low FSB hole on that board.

Have you tried to tap key's like cntrl - F1 or so? in several boards it seems to unluck certain options. And if you HAVE seen more options, there should be a way to reveal them...

Good tip ... will try it tonight (though I get the feeling it has something to do with a not 100% compatibility with the processor or so)
