Chassis Fans & RAM Fans

Thread Starter
My chassis has two very bad fans, that does rotate very slow..

And I'm up to overclocking, so I need two more - That do rotate extreme fast / give extra ordinary cooling. The 2x fans are: 120mm
Do some of you have any recommmandations in what fins I should get?

I also going to clock my OCZ Gold 8GB RAM to 1066Mhz(from 800Mhz),
can this be a risk? I am also going to buy some RAM fans ( that covers 2x2).
Anyone who have any good recommandations about RAM Fans?

Also one question; I clocked my 9800GX2 to 670Mhz/1675Mhz/2054Mhz, and set the fans to 90%. I am running when running highend games like conan and Crysis with max 85 celsius. When playing Crysis I get a sort of lagg - Why? Is this because of the driver?
This also happens in Age of Conan ( sometimes... ).

But in 3DMark06 I run full with 1680x1050 8x AA - and get a FPS up to 60-70.

My system:
Intel E8500 - 3,16Ghz (nonclocked)
CPU COOLING: Asus Silent Knight II
8GB OCZ Gold RAM
Vista Ultimate 64-bit
XFX 9800GX2 (600M - but overclocked to: 670Mhz/1675Mhz/2054Mhz)
Got a little chassis, but it should go..

Blue fins look better than rainbow fins. But the Scythe Slipstreams and S-Flex fans are better for cutting up fish. Just look for whichever one has the right sound level for you, and maybe check the fan database in my ''Air cooling for dummies'' thread, in signature.

No. You will probably have to loosen the timings to get it stable, though.

Corsair Dominator 3x40mm fans. I think it's better than the OCZ because the fans cover only the area of the ram, and push more air. The OCZ looks better, though.

If it is only Crysis, this is normal during some parts of the game which are more demanding. If it happens also during Conan, though, it could be that, because of the big heat, the electricity going to the GPU core is slightly reduced, resulting in unstable clocks. Try lowering the GPU temperature or lowering the clocks. Maybe a good excuse for a new chassis?

for ram cooling you can choose between Corsair Dominator and OCZ XTC.
i dont think you can get your OCZs to 1066Mhz cause my OCZs stop at 1000Mhz so i think its a bit to high a goal but you could always try.

anyways...good luck
