Re: Wireless cards - PCI vs USB?

So, what's the difference performance-wise when it comes to a PCI slot desktop wireless card vs one of those little USB looks-like-a-jump-drive-thingies?

I have a USB and it works great. It is the Belkin N1 USB Adapter if that is to any help for you.

Also, you router has a play to, you have to have a good router that has good frequency, otherwise the USB or PCI would not be able to receive an excellent/good transmission.

I had a PCI card, and I hated it. I've been using USB wireless adapters for three years now and there has yet to be a problem. The nice thing about the USB is that you can put it on an extension cable and place it anywhere. Performance wise, I saw difference in speed between the two interfaces. Down to preference, cost, and convenience really.

I have the same thing, Belkin makes good USB adapters.

If you do go with USB, get a belkin.

Yeah, and also the router, I have the N1 Vision and both of them, the router and the USB are great, also when I connect my laptop to the router, then I would get full reception.

Even printing wirelessly from my laptop is easy!!
