Media Plugin Question

Thread Starter
I was just trying to watch the discovery launch on NASA website. Usually they put up a quicktime version of videos so i can watch it on my macbook. However this time it was windows media player only. so my question: is there a program i can get to work windows media player streams on the net, because i use VLC to watch downloaded ones, but i dont think i can get it to work for things like this

Browser i use is Firefox 3, but i have safari if needs be

cheers in advance for any input

http://www.flip4mac.com/

You have these options for web WMV with this program:

1. The Flip4Mac player can play the media (sound, video, whatever) in the browser (you have the option to save to a file afterwards!)

2. When you open the site, it'll launch QT, and QT will deal with the streaming (your browser doesn't get involved after it launches QT). You won't be able to save to files unless you pay for QT Pro.
