Didn't realize backing up my personal DVD's was against the TOS

OK! I just got my HTPC online. I also purchased a combo LG HD-DVD reader/ Blu-Ray 6X burner (up to 50GB) + everything else. And I purchased two 1TB HDD's. (FYI: This LG hidef combo HD-DVD/Bluray 6X burner is selling on Newegg for 300$)

Right now, I have dual 400 disk DVD carousels and a bunch of Blu-Ray and HD-DVD disks. I want to make my entire collection digital. So, I purchased Slysofts Anydvd HD ripper and Nero Ultra V8. And Cyberlink Power DVD ultra HD/Blu-ray edition.

So, I believe I have everything I need to turn my media collection into digital format. Also, I installed a virtual DVD drive. For DVD's, I'm ripping them into ISO's on my mass storage drives. I can them mount the ISO and watch it with PowerDVD.

Here's the problem. I CAN rip my HD-DVD's and Blu-Ray's to the HDD no problem. But, how do I get them to play back? How do I go about converting the HDD data into a mountable ISO? Or, forget the ISO, how do i play the hidef movie straight from my HDD? Can NERO V8 help with any of these operations? How about Star Burn? TOO many packages out there!

Thanks for any advice you may have!

You gotta use nero or cyberlink and convert back blu ray or DVD. You could just rip the blu ray on to the computer iso image and use dameon tools to playback.

Try this microsoft help link. Looks like this feature is not enabled by default in Media Center. I am going to give this a try this afternoon. And for reference, here is the link to the story about it.

Here is the directory dump for Fifth Element:
NOTE: I found out that I can play the Bluray video files through PowerDVD V8. The video files are under "Stream" and have the extension: M2TS. PowerDVD ricks hard!

Also question, how do I burn a Bluray disk to ISO? Using what program? I don't believe Nero or Star support hidef disks.

Volume in drive H is TB1
Volume Serial Number is 4C8B-8F29

Yes, I purchased AnyDVD and it is WELL worth the money. It's fabulous.

My problem isn't pulling media into my HTPC, my problem is getting that media to integrate into Vista's media center.
