LOL

Oh well, we all make purchases we later regret [a little].

They are only cheap plates. Don't know what you paid but they are 6 bucks here.

Yepper. But honestly if I could get my unlocked multiplier back it wouldn't be this hot. I can keep higher speeds and drop the temps. I may be going back to the P5N-D board as the EVGA techs are blowing me off on getting the bios fixed.

Yeah, that's why I didn't buy a 750i or 780i after finding out the 680i I bought didn't really support quads overclocked. I spent alot of wasted hours trying to get anything out of this board and after finally giving up and contacting their customer support their answer was that the 680i TR revision does support the Q6600 at stock speeds.

I'm thinking "So why did I spend 3x the price of a cheaper board if I wanted to run STOCK!". They were willing to RMA my board for a T1 revision, but I've also heard even with that, overclocking the quads is an iffy situation for the 680i. Maybe it's more of an Nvidia chipset issue, but I decided to go with a DFI LT X48 instead.(never tried DFI before so why not..) Now if I can just get that board here...first board shipped was the wrong version....

Ahh well...

Those QX6700 B3 stepping run hot like my E6600 B3 stepping, I always get people asking why my temps are hot on that one. My new Q6600 GO loads where my E6600 B3 used to idle and it has double the cores...lol!

X48 and intel chipsets ftw! YAY

I'm glad to see some new testing though for the fuzions on their quad core solutions (which don't seem to be turning out that great). Someone's gotta do it, thanks +rep!

Martin I think your right. So many people are spolied by the GOs they forget how hot the B3's actually run. But then again they can take more abuse.
