Power Supply makes a "clicking" noise - Page 2

Thanks for the quick reply!

Well, its not the fan because ive turned the computer on and off with hatch open and eyes on PSU. Its just a little ticking/clicking noise at rather short but still random intervals. Audible but not loud or crackling.

But I cant understand why its only present when the computer is powered off???

Could it be something with the power grid? Like tiny spikes?

Thing is: its the frickin AC Silentium T2 PRO chassis (which i still think has a kinda cool thermal layout even though i definitively regret the ****ty PSU). So the PSU cant really be removed easily and I bought this from a internet-based company with no stores where I live, or within 6 hours by car for that matter.

Hmm. contacted AC support four days ago, still no reply, no one here who has a suggestion on how critical this issue may be?

My PSU also makes a clicking-ish sound, BUT only when power is off and cable still plugged in. Its really strange! I cant see any sparks or such, but it has that same clicking sound.

What do you think could be the issue here?
ARGH, Me too! It's driving me up the wall.

When I plug it in (even after being off all night), it starts clicking after about 15 seconds. When I turn it on the clicking stops, and everything works fine. When I turn it off we're back to clickety-clackety-cluck.

It sucks that no one seems to know the solution, but I just thought I'd chime in to let you know that others are suffering through it as well.

my back intake (i know it should be exhaust)80mm fan makes a growl noise on a cold boot (not from hibernate or standby.) for about a minute....any reasons? maybe a wire is hitting it, but the noise only happens on cold boot.

I had this same thing happen to a thermaltake power supply of mine. All I did was take out my PSU. Remove the grill covering the fan, then just kinda pulled out the fan and put it back on so it looked center. Then I just screwed the stuff back on.

Noise stopped. Id at least give that an attempt, as long as you dont void warranty.

ALSO ALSO ALSO, do not put your finger anywhere near one of those capacitors.
