Gigabyte MA790FX-DQ6 shows wrong temps

Hey, i just got a new mobo a couple of days ago and im very happy with it. It is only one thing that bothers me and that is i cant get a temprature reading of my cpu. I mean, it reads it but it shows 80-85c.. i have set the warning temprature at 60c in bios and i never heard an alarm. The HS is not very hot either. I even played some games and it is still at 80c so something must be wrong.. I cant get any program to get me the right readings, Coretemp, Everest, Speedfan or Overdrive.. I got the latest drivers and i have absolutly no ideawhats going on..
Anyone have this board with the same problem?

All i can think of is this: go to gigabytes webpage and download the latest BIOS for your board. Flash it. As dangerous as that sounds, it might fix it.

The strange thing is, is that bios seems to show the right temp, around 35 idle.. Why cant it just show that inwindows?

That is strange... Is your windows up to date and everything?

What software are you using for temp monitoring? Some software does give wrong readings. Try Everest. You can get all the info of ur system plus tems. Hope that helps.

I think ur bios temp reading is ok. The software you are using is giving it wrong.

It's a known problem with Brisbane CPU's,a lot of them give flaky temp readings. All you can do is make sure your cooler is flat and working properly and that it has the right amount of TIM.Update to the latest BIOS and monitoring software. For me the only thing that gave me a accurate reading was the Asus program, you should get the latest version of Gigabyte's Easy Tune and see what that says. The 35c BIOS temp sounds about right if your OC'ed.

Kick it. Ok, no, dont kick it. But I bet you wish you could

have you tried maybe a different version of windows? I have heard lots of people that have had problems with xp sp3 and went back to sp2 and had it work, likewise for vista back to xp.
