You'll be far more satisfied building your own, I got an HP before I knew anything about computers and I hate it. Please do us all a favor and build one yourself or hire someone here to do it for you. Of all the computer companies...Dell?

Edit: Show your dad this thread, I think he'll understand where his money is better spent.

Hang about mate whats this talk about a 30" monitor? How much is that gonna cost you? And I hope you know that 8800GT isn't going to be able to play many games at a decent fps at 2560x1600.

Haha, Ive convinced him, and he knows that building your own is better than dell, and alot cheaper. He just trusts dell cause there dependable. Ive been trying to get him to let me pay him off, but hes not cracking lol As you can see on my avatar i race cars, and we just built a $6500 car for this season, so we dont have all the money in the world

The monitor is worth $1300 alone, it comes with the computer tho, its included in the price. And i hardly game, the game i play is day of defeat source lol

i hope u no that a 30" dell that comes with your computer is NOT GOING TO BE WORTH 1300 BUCKS!!! dell will sell you the most bottom of the barrel part they can find stamp it dell than make you feel all good inside that you have a 30" monitor until you turn it on 3 weeks after buying it and all u see is white. also as OCZedd said a 8800gt on a 30" monitor is going to have CRAP framerates your going to want to sli two gt's to get enough ram for that 30"er. but then you have the issue of getting a motherboard without sli or any option to change it.

Wow that is an amazing deal tbh. I would say go for it and select the lowest amount of ram available and upgrade it after a 4Gigs is cheap today and dell always want like $200 more for 2 more gigs lol.

And yeah racing is expensive, I race too

Also seems a bit of a waste to go for a 8800 if only to play 1 game.

If your looking for a deal with a monitor, I guess Dell is ok. But I haven't seen an instance where Dell customer support or quality is any better than building it yourself. I have had to repair a few Dells becuase Dell would not honor their policies.

Of course if that what you guys believe than there is nothing we can say. I will say I agree with everyone about building your own.
