Abit IP35P versus GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3L ?

Thread Starter
I'm trying to decide between these two motherboards -- for a budget build OC'ing a e2180 or e7200 -- and I'm wondering how the two MBs stack up to each other?

VS.

GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3L

Is the Gigabyte worth the extra $$$ ? Any other budget OC-friend boards to consider?

With the Abit, (the E version, essentially the same with no raid or firewire), I've been running an E2180 at 3.2 ghz stable on air for about 4 months without a single hiccup.

I could push it higher but its my kids rig so there is no point.

The IP35P is back down in price, and has a $30 rebate now. Hopefully you didn't already pay the higher price, too bad for me I just ordered a DS3L yesterday But it's a huge upgrade from my current so I'm not complaining.

Yeah -- I just noticed that the IP35P's price went back down on newegg. I didn't purchase it before, so now is the time to buy. I was actually about to purchase a DS3L. I still kinda wonder why the DS3L seems so much more popular, and one review actually suggests that the IP35P is inferior -- in terms of overclocking -- to other abit P35 boards:

http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/mai...bit-ip35p.html

but enough people have recommended the IP35P, and this is quite a deal, so ordering it I am...
