[hardware zone] AMD - Loaded and Back in Action - Page 2

Well I hope AMD can fully recover from all this and give Intel a well deserved spanking.
I bet that AMD's new 6 Core CPU will be slower than Intels new Nehalem Quad cores. And AMD will probably have problems just getting that many cores on one chip all working.

I'm sure that the RV770 will be a great GPU, The GT200 just looks like a overheated power sucking peace of junk whating to be over priced.

I love ATi but AMD just isn't cutting it.

Its gonna be very hard for AMD to come back...Maybe theyll come with something equivalent to the Athlon in the P4 days. Honestly I dont think its gonna happen.

Wow! That's a lot of hate coming from you, Jonny1989...

I'm looking forward to AMD finally getting their act back together. It's exciting to see a smaller company, such as AMD, take on the behemoth that is Intel. I also hope to see better performance some year by having a AMD/ATI system that was designed to work better together. Who knows, maybe sooner then we think...

Just a thought, but is there an AMD/ATI Club here for those of us who run this type of system here at Overclock.net? It seems like there should be...

You could use the quote button in the future if you want to direct a comment at someone (just trying to help, not meaning to sound rude.) Also there is a HD38xx owners club in the ATI section.

Nahalem will be expensive, and if it beats the Shanghai badly AMD will simply drop prices until Shanghai competes and is a great choice. Additionally AMD chips still scale better in servers with many many CPU and CPU cores. This and the fact there will be a 12 core Shanghai variant makes it an excellent candidate for large scale server platforms.

Bets dont go very far in the CPU world....

We dont know hardly anything about either of these next-gen chips, bar the odd snippet of architectural info that could be truthful as much as it could a pile of FUD.

So, until we start getting concrete performance numbers, we shouldnt go making rash statements.

I just want to seem them gain some solid ground again. IF these chips do what they say, then they are set-up quite well.
