Thanks For the help guys.om3n This Fixed it. I am glad some one helped me out.. Thank you. I am new to this stuff I read all day and play with my computers been learning a lot. Next will be over clocking hehe I had my q6600 running at 3.2 stable for about to months then I put the chip into my 780 board. It idols at 23C so I am sure it will Over clock well with my zalman 9700.

I am having exactly the same problem, but clearing the CMOS did not help, nor did replacing the motherboard.

My config is:
Q9450
EVGA 780i SLI
4gb OCZ 800
4 HDs
X-Fi soundcard
600W

What's worse, the system worked fine for a week, then suddenly didn't start a couple of days ago. At first it restarted every 20 seconds constantly, then when I powered off and restarted, it shows the initial BIOS screen, then slowly types out a few of the lines and hangs. If I let it run for a couple of hours it makes it as far as "Verifying DMI pool data.........." WHen I power it off since then it flashes for a split second something along the lines of "Your CPU BIOS has been flashed. You need to perform a hard reboot to fix it".

EVGA walked me through a few steps, including checking each stick of RAM individually, unplugging all periferals, and as mentioned I had already cleared CMOS (both ways).

Any ideas of what this indicates - is it the CPU?

Hey man Im having the same problem as you almost. I have done EVERYTHING trying to get my system not to restart at anything over 3ghz which it seems to do. It passes Microsofts intensive memory tests, so I know my memory modules are fine. The PC will run Prime for days at anything below 3ghz but if you bring it above that it will reboot randomly. Sometimes it will run and let me play a game for an hour, other times it restarts after a few minutes. My power supply is brand new and gives plenty of power to all my components. Im starting to think i need to increase my memory timings maybe? or voltage? Please someone help me, im kind of new and i joined this forum 2 seconds ago because I saw how many people seem to know a thing or 2 about this topic where as im sort of a noob in this area. Anything would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance!

Sounds like you might need to flash to the newest bios version. Seems like the bios is confused about what CPU is running from the "CPU Bios has been flashed" message.

Are you sure that your CPU settings are correct in bios? Check to verify these settings:
CPU multiplier=8
FSB frequency=1333(actual=1333.3)MHz
RAM frequency=800MHz
RAM timings=4-4-4-15 2T.
VCore(CPU Core) Voltage=Auto or somewhere around 1.25V to make sure it runs
CPU FSB Voltage=1.3V
DRAM Voltage=2.1V(unless your RAM states otherwise)

Is that the OCZ PC2-6400 SLI-Ready RAM? That stuff isn't too bad. Runs at 1T with all other settings stock.
