Strange things happening with phenom 9500 - need help! - Page 2

Actually, I already read (and replied to) that thread a day ago. In it, I explianed that I have an AM2 motherboard using DDR2 RAM, and my BIOS uses the 1:1, 1:1.33, 1:1.66, 1:2, and 1:2.66 settings for RAM. And since most of the post incorrectly assumes that I don't have those settings, I don't really understand a lot of that post.

well, I still am unsure as to exactly what that RAM issue may be - I just used the 'Adjusted DDR Memory Frequency' line, which updates itself as I change the CPU FSB Frequency and the Multiplier and the FSB/Memory Ratio, and I watched it to keep it under 800MHz (it seems to be doubling it, automatically compensating for the fact it is DDR2).

But nonetheless, my main problem right now still exists, and I would REALLY appreciate any help or insight as to how to fix it. At this point, if I change any setting at all away from the stock/default settings, anything, it drops my actual configuration to 140/x11 with an HT multiplier of 2 and a FSB/Memory ratio of 1:2; leaving me at 1.54GHz CPU and 560MHz RAM. It doesn't matter what I change or where I set it, it retains those apparent settings in the BIOS, but the computer boots to those weak settings.

By going back to all default, I get a 200/x11 with an HT of 5 and RAM of 1:2 which gives me the stock 2.2GHz CPU and 800MHz RAM.

I tried removing the CMOS battery and swapping over the clear BIOS jumper again, and it did not help. I flashed back to version 1.2 of the BIOS, and it did not help. Leaving it on 1.2, I again pulled the battery/swapped the jumper, and THAT didn't help. So now I am flashed back to 1.6 BIOS, but didn't bother with yet another battery/jumper attempt to clear the BIOS.

Is it possible/probable I damaged some hardware and it is malfunctioning now?

Or would this still be remnants of the issues which seemed to all start when I installed and ran AMD OverDrive (AOD)?

I would really rather not have to wipe windows and make a fresh install; but I am about ready to either give up on OCing this computer at all, or else try that. Any other suggestions?
