New build need advice ($1k budget)

Thread Starter
Hello all , new build 90% for gaming , 10% for whatever else. Wanted to stay under 1k budget minus keyboard monitor mouse speakers and OS (XP HOME 32bit) , going to keep that from other computer. Heres what I got so far , I plan on OCing it when I feel the need to. Any suggestions would be awesome. Forgot to add don't know whether to go 4 core or 2 core , need some input. I just keep reading and reading online about the differences between the two , this is better , thats better etc.

Your links are not working for some reason. Are you getting a Q6600 or an E8400? It shows both.

Anyways. For pure gaming I'd go with the E8400. Most games haven't implemented quads and the E8400 would definitely provide excellent performance. And I'd get G.Skill RAM. I've noticed currently that the G.Skill has been very reliable for most guys. Other than that. The rest looks fine. Good luck.

Take the E8400 for OCing and gaming. Other than that, others look great, unless you need/want a modular power supply.

only 160GB HDD? Crysis and other big games are gonna fill that up quite quickly.
For a few more $ you can get way bigger, if you got the $$ for it, look into the samsung F1 1TB
