If this takes off, I'm sure that whatever monitor requirements will be added into the general monitor markets...

i am going to guess, that a 3D capable mouse would also be needed?? Having a 3D environment, "simulated" or not, i would think your peripherals would also have to support this extra dimension... Just a guess though...
Agree with the monitor thing, but not with the mouse. 3D is just an optical trick where you get 3D image out of two 2Ds pretty much, the mouse movement will remain the same.

Didn't they try this whole 3dglasses thing like 10 years ago and it failed? I know that Trackmania has the 3d glasses option and it tones down the quality and color depth of the graphics by a lot.

No. Probably not.
It will display the image (as seen in the picture) like that on your monitor.

It's the same as watching, Spy Kids 3D or example. Or that U2 3D concert in cinemas. It's simply a blend of colours that are made to look 3D when viewed through a certain lens.

Whatever "special" tv he's talking about must just have certain specs or something because he said they were already available at Best Buy and I haven't seen any special 3D tvs advertised....

there are several methods to give a 3d feeling , one of them is by giving 1 frame on horizontal lines , the other frame (for the stereo-3d feeling) on vertical lines.

now since LCD does only scan lines horizontaly , this method can't work on LCD's , so YES - you have to use a projector or a diffrent TV technology.

but again , this is only 1 method of giving a 3d feeling , there are others , but this is defintly the best.. btw IMAX 3D works the same way.

edit : Nvidia stereo drivers does not work on LCD as far as I remember reading on THG review.
