Battery power means that it draws its charge from something else. Just make sure that source is more efficient than your wall outlet!

Geothermal isn't feasible on the small scale.

You just have solar or wind left.

The guy was charging the battery as he drives to work. Pretty smart idea if you are already burning fossil fuels to beging with.

good way to find out how many cm the power can bridge over air.

super thin cables?
the brown cable grounding the main battery is even bigger (manufactures never use too big cables)
and: the moment you connect the empty 1500A Battery to the other one a huge current is flowing
this little bug of a car should have a main battery with at least 450 A short time current (running thought this joke cables he uses)
35 cm² I use in my car, are said to run 150 A (on 5 meters length) without problem

not only that any 'good fellow' or animal can harm than, the door and hood will do it anyway.
As the plus cable got it's way to the metal, his car ends.
His batteries will die, his motor electronic, ....


The fact that he uses a minus cable the hole way tells that he knows nothing about electricity in cars.
And therefore he should keep his fingers off it.

I lol'ed when I saw that POS Honda along with the ghetto wiring with 10gage transferring all that power. I can't wait to see that wire strip away then short out.

EDIT: And if he plans on adding more batteries that's his stupidity because he's just going to have more weight for no reason resulting in more gas consumption.The batteries that he should be using have to have a quick recharge/discharge such as Kinetik batteries (even though they are mainly use in Car Audio Soundoffs) and at least multiple runs 0gage wire.

I am not 100% sure how the alternator system works. Does it generate power constantly regardless or does it generate more power when needed? Basically, does charging a battery via alternator need more gas?

Alternators are 50-60% efficient... but is that after the efficiency of a car (5-15%)?

I believe it generates a constant flow of 14 volts, 500-1000 watts (depending on the model), at idle or not.

So the plan is to catch the EXCESS watts that the original car battery does not need and cant retain because it is fully charged already.

But I do agree that this guy is a lil bit reckless about safety.

I don't know what's the exact English term for it, sorry.
It controls the current and keeps the voltage stable.

Without that the voltage would differ with the rpm of the engine.

OFC... the question is... does the alternator constantly output electricity when the engine is on? Or does it use additional gas to create electricity when needed?
