I see you are gonna go ahead with the maximus formula...good choice, you cant go wrong!
I noticed in the for sale section a new on fresh from RMA for sale;

The X38 lineup from ASUS supports dual PCI-E x16 PCIE 2.0 slots. In fact all the X38 chipsets support it. The P5E is an X38 board, not to be confused with the P5K-E, which is a P35 chipset board.
