Cracked Res

Thread Starter
There are a bunch of cracks on my brand new Swiftech Micro Res....I received the res a few days ago with no noticeable blemishes. I set up my loop for a 48 hour leak test, all components did fine, no leaks, and I didn't notice any cracks on the res. I flushed the loop two days ago and set the stuff to dry. Yesterday I came downstairs and found the res had 20+ cracks around its edges...I'm pissed off to say the least. I filled the res up to see if it leaks, and while I'm not certain, it seems that it is NOT leaking. Still, the cracks looks ugly and I'm worried they could spread and eventually leak.

What do you guys think I should do? Call up Swiftech and complain? What could have cause these cracks? I'm sure I did not subject the res to extreme cold or heat, warm water at most...

Thanks...Here's a bunch of pictures, it's damn hard to get the cracks to show well....

How do I fix it lol? I mean I could tape it up and seal it up with aquarium grade acrylic but it would look ugly.

How much do you want for yours?

Hi.

He purchased it from me.

The unit was NIB, never opened (except to take a pic) for him.

This is a real bummer.... it sounds like crazing, but the pics aren't clear enough to really tell. Not your fault, acrylic is just that way.

I would contact Swiftech and tell them that you got a brand new Micro-Res....add the rest of your story.

Personally, I would not use it.

If you have no luck from Swiftech, or meet resistance, PM me.

I will make this right.

Thanks Syrillian, I'll contact them now. I'm just curious what could have possibly caused the res to crack, I mean it was like I went to bed everything was fine and I wake up and cracks,
