permanent tech station?

Thread Starter
I was lookin for a case and was thinking a little out of the box...(lol?) im wondering about using a tech station, like the Danger Den Torture Rack, but not for testing. Im looking to use it as a permanent home for my PC. Besides dust buildup (ill keep it under a drop cloth when its not on) what else should i be worried about with using a tech station permanent? oh, and the other cases im looking at are the Sunbeam UFO, the Sunbeam Acrylic, and the gold standard of gamer cases...the Antec 900.

Hi.

Maybe check This thread, as Marin is another "au-natural" PC enthusiast.

PS ~ I love tech stations. So easy to clean, maintain and swap stuff out.

If you want that look an acrylic case sounds like a good idea. I could never have a tech station, my cats would love sitting on the motherboard. And one of them has the habit of dribbling, so a drool covered motherboard wouldn't be a good look.

well it still seems like a decent idea, i gotta get one that can fit my Zalman 9500A, the thing almost reaches the side panel of my current case

Actually this one looks good-
http://www.petrastechshop.com/hslatest201x5.html
The mobo goes underneath and is protected from what I can see by the board above (should stop most of the dust/insects/cats/fingers/drinks). Pricey compared to a case though .

I'm sure it'll be pre-assembled, and you'll just screw stuff in like normal. Might need to read some reviews first. Looks like a nice case.

yup definately the UFO, It'll fit all my crap, cost less than $100, looks freaking amazing, and with 2 x 120mm fans blowing straight through the mobo it should be cold... now for the hard decision, use the money ive got saved on my 8400 and buy the case... or buy the case after the CPU. Since its almost summer and my case is already getting toasty i think i need the case more
