PC Lockup Frustration! - Page 2

I've been helping him since saturday to get it right - over MSN
He said memtest gives him 1 error occasionally - but prime is fine for hours
it just randomly crashes sometimes [3 times since i've been talking to him this morning]

Okay, after many more lockups I decided to take 1 hour to test each ram stick and each dimm slot using memtest86(+), here are my results:

DIMM 1
Slot: 1
Failed Address: 0003feed18
Where: 1022.8MB
Slot: 3 (same stick)
Failed Address: 0003feed18
Where: 1022.8MB

DIMM 2

Slot: 2
Failed Address: 0003feedf18
Where: 1022.8MB
Slot: 4
Failed to Post

DIMM 3
Slot 1:
Failed Address 0003feedf18
Where: 1022.8MB
Slot 4:
Failed Address 0003feedf18
Where: 1022.8MB

DIMM 4
Slot: 2
Failed Address 0003feedf18
Where: 1022.8MB

I highly doubt that EVERY stick went bad, could it be the ram module/controller that went bad? Could this be the reason my system is being so unstable?

That's crazy

Can you test the ram in another system, or test different ram in your system?
