Windows XP task scheduler question.

Thread Starter
Let's say that I have Windows XP task scheduler set up to defrag my HDD every Monday at 4:00pm and my computer happens to be turned off at that time.

Will it:

A) Skip it and not do it that week?

or

B) Do the task the very next time the computer is powered on?

It will skip it. If you set it to high priority, however, it will power up the machine to do that. Similar to when you have Media Center set to record a TV show.

Thanks. I just found "Wake the computer to run this task" in the settings.

that only works if your computer is in sleep mode and not turned off
