C2D E8200 temperature sensor

Thread Starter
I've heard couple times about E8200s with damaged temperature sensor which gives information that processor is about 32°C cold all the time.
I'm a bit worry cause in ASUS Suite I've never seen temperature higher than sth like 33°C (cpu isn't overclocked)

Can anyone confirm this info ab damaged sensor?
If so, anyone knows what series is faulty?

You want to use Real Temp. It was designed for the E8400 and the E8200. It also has sensor testers. It's excellent. It'll give you accurate results. Download Here ---->http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/

Agree, use Real Temp. Test the sensor. The movement will tell if you're sensor is locked or not.

I'd also check with CoreTemp. More info is always better.

which sensor reading? asus suite only reads the motherboard sensors so that saying your cpu socket is always 34c? thats about the max mine hits so could be right.

Right. Everest and Core Temp are going to show 10 degrees higher. But the REAL temp is the one you see in Real Temp. That's probably why he named it that

EDIT: you can definitely bump up the vcore and FSB with such a great load temp. You can run this chip as high as 1.3625 vcore

Take it out on the track and race it now

Ran Real Temp as suggested (thanks JadeMiner), and got 39 on one core and 36 on the other, tested sensors and got 6 and 4, so i guess everything is fine. ASUS Suite shows sth like 33/34, I wonder why its lowered... Anyways I'm not worry about sensors anymore
And rumours ab broken sensors in C2D E8200 exist because of such low temperatures, that CPUs work. Or there really was series of faulty processors...
