overclock stable in xp, not in vista?

Thread Starter
Why is this?

It's stable at 3.6GHz in xp

but I get BSOD when loading vista.

I used to be able to get into vista no problem before I switched to 680i.

They both clock the q6600 the same, just now the only difference is vista bsods...

what do you guys think..

No. The bootloader was messed, so I only used EASYBCD to fix the bootloader.

You would recommend another install of VISTA?

oh and btw, the old board I had was p5k (this was a while back, I rarely use vista, i hate it lol)

Once you get used to the features, ease of everything, and tweaked it right

You will love it.

I do!

I hope you do too.

And getting used to it can take a while - i first used vista in the Beta 2 form
You know all the "problems" in vista when it was released - multiply them by about 10 and that was Beta 2.....

Vista is more resource hungry and uses some things differently - also your overclock might not have been fully stable in the first place - also not reinstalling windows might affect it also.
