open your motherboard manual. there is a guide w/ picture.
95% of the time, the colored wires are the positive.

I plugged a USB in backwards and BIOS yelled at me for it. But yes, I guaren-f'ing-tee you I could change the color of any of those wires and they'd still do their job. Color is only used as a visual guide to help installing it or to establish voltage or any number of things. It is impossible to install a wire backwards. Two wires you actually can depending on if their attached to the device. Plug a fan in backwards and it spins in reverse. LED's, switches, and the speaker don't usually matter.

And in reference to the poster above. BLACK is usually associated with ground. Color is hot, black is safe. (If I hear one racist joke...)

I don't have a MB yet, it's hopefully on the way up the steps from the brown truck right now. This panel is on my case, and the wiring came with it.

The usb plug is a double which they are opposing each other so that either way you turn it, the wire color pattern is the same, so that is safe.

- is white on all of the single plugs.

The issue now is that there are more plugs than pins, so 3 of them must share a ground. The HDD Led and Reset button are double wire plugs and the rest are singles, aside from the speaker, which is covers 4 pins but only has wires on the outside slots, this is where I'm losing these pins, but I can't figure out how else it should go based on the circuit board.

I called Norco and a guy answered the phone with no automated system, and got my email address, told me he would research it and send me the most detailed information he could find. I'm impressed with that personal customer service as long as he follows through.

Here's a pic, the speaker plug is just under the ones you can see labeled. I know the focus is bad, just using my 2mp phone. I don't have a nice camera.

The only motherboard panel connection that I know of to have a black wire is the diagnostic speaker connection (which many boards have on board anyway).
