Is it worth the money to upgrade from a AV710?

I have been running a chaintech AV710 for a few years now and am about to do some serious upgrading in this next computer. I am curious if some of these newer sound cards are going to be really worth $200 to upgrade this little old $30 card hehe.

I just bought the Z-5500 digis to replace my Z-5300e, I really needed that toslink along with 6ch direct input. I am going to run the toslink to the new HDdvr and the 6ch to the pc s/c. Will be nice to have everything setup with ONE system instead of 2-3 different receiver/amps. Oh noes, what will I do with all that space back? LOL

I use my puter for a lot of music, movies 4-5 a week, and select few games. (Quake, UT, and racing sims) I am not near as picky about tonal qualities while playing a game as I am during a movie or worse music. I just expect 5.1 when gaming and movies well ya, I think you get the pic. I have recently gotten back into playing my Schecter C-1 FR Hellraiser and wouldn't mind tapping it into the puter for some personal recordings. Not a huge deal though if I can't, just would be nice.

Anyways, do you think that a upgrade to a Prelude, Claro(+), or Xonar would yield significant enough gains to really drop $200 on one? THX

the chaintech is great if you plan to use digital out, but the analog out sucks.

if you want all the latest processing and positional audio for games then the Prelude is worth the money.

How easily is the positional audio stuff setup? preset or user defined presets? and how in depth will they get ie. feet/inches from each speaker,(time correction) seating position, any kind of xovers limiters, suppressors, or is that asking too much? lol THX
