Yes, wait a month or two. NVidia just came out with their upcoming offerings. Intel has new chipsets on the way. By the end of June, hopefully we'll see these things hit the shelves.

ATI and AMD also just announced their new stuff. A very cool one is ATi's XGP solution that works with AMD's new puma. Basically, puma is integrated graphics, chipset and cpu's (onboard gpu graphics alot better than intel's atm too). XGP adds an external PCI-E box that houses the latest ATI desktop gpu's. This way, you'll get the best of both worlds: a notebook that is quite mobile and low power, that becomes a gaming box when you dock it.

I believe that I am safe in saying that for its price Gateway notebooks offer unparalleled deals. For $1300 i just bought a P-series notebook and its specs are out of this world. Almost all of their notebooks come with a 8800M GTS with 512Mb of DEDICATED MEMORY, this along with the 17" screen makes for an awesome gaming experience (imagine Crysis on very high with 60 fps). I have done a significant amount of research and I can honestly say that you will be hard pressed to find an equivalent laptop for under $2000.
