TURN SHADERS OFF!

It increases ure FPS by atleast 15-30.

Video options > Shadow quality and turn it off.

Little tip!
I play with all shaders on... high quality... 1680x1050... high settings... and I average 45fps on my sig rig.

Yes but in general turning shadow off makes a big difference in FPS jump and the shadow quality dosent do anything in terms of visual display really.

Well yes, turning shaders off more than doubles my fps. I have no problem with turning the shadow quality down, but turning them off completely? If you think it doesn't make much difference, you are blind. AoC (and most games) with the shaders completely off vs on is two different games.

I agree... it still looks ok without shadows.

All I'm saying is... if you go to a location with a lot of shadows and turn them completely off, then compare the before and after, it looks like two different locations.

For sure I like the shadows on.

My problem is the fullscreen bug. If I try to play the game fullscreen it causes my computer to restart...

I would say go for the 512.

It's well worth the money and in the long run it will last you better.

Yes, they are a waste. Get the 512... it won't cost you much (if any) more.
