PS3 family games

Any good family games for the PS3? I was going to get a Wii... I really was. But it's still near impossible to find. And Wii doesn't have Metal Gear.

Graphics aren't important. The only things of importance the value of game play and not being too hard for non gamers to enjoy.

the current one is actually pretty fun if you're still thinking of getting a PS3 over a Wii

Good try though. They don't do international shipping.

I received Ratchet and Clank free with my PS3 and so far it is the only game i own.

I am into my FPS and RPGs and so thought i would hate this, but it's actually alright, i play it almost every night!

Honestly though mate, i bought a Wii about 8 months back and after playing through Zelda, i became VERY disenchanted with the wii as a whole.

The main selling point for the wii has always been the wii-motes, the movement recognition software/hardware....but i truly believe this to be over rated.

Zelda, for example, is supposed to be hack and slash with the sword, you strike left, Link strikes left, you strike right, link strikes right....but it's a lie.

I played through that entire game, simply shaking the wiimote at any sign of trouble. The moement is recognised by the system, but it simply triggers the same old combination of slashes, regardless of how you shake the wiimore.

The wii has no decent games, no DVD player, no wifi, crap graphics and the only selling point is flawed.

I traded mine in and got a PS3, and i would never look back.

The SIXAXIS movement sensors in the control pads and just as good as the wii IMO, it has wifi, big hard drive that is changeable, a DAMN good blue ray player, fantastic HD graphics, better games, free online play.....

The list is endless, honestly.

Trust me, the xbox 360 doesn't even compare to the PS3, so the wii never could.

Regards

My question is family based games. I stated that graphics are not important. I don't think one gaming system is better than another. They just seem to spealize in different things. It would seem with the PS3 you'll not only have a hard time getting decent family games but you'll also have trouble finding good 2 player non sport games. If you play games as a group then this will annoy the hell out of you.

Taking Mario Party for example. It's a simple game but is yet still fun and well thought out. The Mario Party series changes very little. This is good because it works in the way that it is. I've yet to find a group of non gamers not find it appealing at a small social event. In these types of games PS3 doesn't stand a chance against the Wii.

I could care less for wifi or a dvd player. I wish I had the option to remove all that stuff and get a cheaper system that specializes only in games. You know, kind of like the Wii.

Despite all I said I think I am still getting a PS3. I was hoping that maybe there was some family games I wasn't aware of. It would appear I'd have to get the Wii to go along with it so everyone else can be happy. I really didn't want to have 2 systems and a gaming pc when I don't even have that much time to play games.

I wouldn't buy ps3 just for metal gear. Honestly Wii is the most fun console I have played ever. The games arn't the ones you stay up for 3 days playing but you will have a blast with friends or family with the fun games it has. I wouldn't suggest it being your only gaming solution, as being more of a party console and not so much of a serious/single player console, and it's online is far from successful... yet.

But if you want it for family get the wii. If you want it to play MGS4 then get a PS3. I think you will enjoy Wii more for the time being.

And to correct the wrong...

Many of the games that the PS3 has the Xbox360 has with better online. I dont think people really care to much aout how little the difference of graphics PS3 has OVER the 360. And who needs a DVD player in their wii, i bet everyone who watches dvd's has some sort of dvd player. Its 2008, c'mon. And Wii does have wifi, and a internet browser, graphics aren't good but when have they said they are. It is not the point of the Wii.

Well, I do belive six axis is awesome. I like the wifi that is also in ps3, just like in the wii. I like that is has a hard drive, but does the wii really need one? You dont have demos, videos or anything that you would store on your wii anyway, and you cant download them from the online. Plus why would you when XBL has done that so well. Sony is the company who owns the rights to Blu-ray. Why would they let the wii, let alone why would nintendo put blu ray in their console when they didnt know if blu ray or hd dvd would win. Lastly. There is a reason why the online is free, it isnt as well rounded and developed as well as XBL. And Wiis is just horrible.

Not trying to be a prude, just expressing how I felt.
