First build, 4400+ set to 5x multiplier automatically :(

Well this is my first build, pretty much went up flawlessly and I installed Vista ultimate. Anways, I decided to check everything out in CPU-Z and it says my Athlon 64 X2 4400+ is running at only 1001mhz. I checked the multiplier and it's only set at 5x, which I believe it should be set at 11.5x. I have a Biostar TA770 A2+ mobo, and I was wondering if anyone had any idea as to why the multiplier is set at only 5x? I used the option in cmos to reload optimized settings or something like that, and it still didn't change it. I believe I can just change the multiplier manually in cmos but I was just wondering if anyone knows why it isn't set at 11.5x to begin with? Could there be a jumper on the mobo to like cut the multiplier in half? Thanks for any help

O and the fsb and ht is set at what I believe is the "default", or what it lists for 4400+ specs. I just don't want to screw anything up.

Gah, I updated the bios, and it still won't let me change the multiplier Any help is appreciated

Ace, in your BIOS make sure anything related to "Cool'n'Quiet" is disabled. Also make sure in Vista that you have your power options set to "High Performance".

Let us know if that works

Good luck
