Stock CPU cooler beter??

hey guys,

im prity new here but i want to know what kind of cooler i should have to buy.

i have an AM2 socket motherboard, with an boxed 5200+ x2 64bit on it.
wich needs much cooling and my stock cooler at a max of almost 6000RPM, while others made for overclocking only run at 2200RPM, how can they stil cool better? and.. what cooler should your recommed for me for overclocking.


this would realy help me out.. thanks

They cool better because they use heat pipe technology, are made of copper, bigger for more heat dissipation, bigger fans. Just because your stock fan spins at 6000RPM doesn't mean it is cooler. A 120mm fan can spin at half the speed of a 92mm and put out the same CFM... It's all in the cooler. There is a small fan on the stock cooler, so it has to spin fast to get air moving. Bigger fans have larger air displacement and don't need to move as fast to move the same amount of air or more.

And yeah, the TRUE is just amazing

hmm.. i looked for the TRUE, and i dont know if it will fit, its a large cooler, and some shops say you need to mount a 120mm-fan on it? dont understand it anymore..

That's if you want a fan on it (and you do ). That clip comes with the TRUE.

Let me re-phrase. Your heatsink needs a fan. There aren't any that don't. The TRUE is just giant and will dissipate any heat you throw on it. The fan gets rid of the heat. Without it it would sit in its own heat and not cool too well.

and second, it looks like the true can have mounted 2 fans on it, 1 on both side's yeah that cooler realy is cool!
