8800 problem

Thread Starter
I got my 8800 I uninstalled 8600 drivers, shut down the pc, unplugged it, then removed the 8600 and put in the 8800. When i turned the computer on, it made a long beep noise so i turned it off, tried turning it on again but same thing happened. so i took out the 8800 and put my 8600 back in and reinstalled drivers, working fine now. Can anyone tell me what went wrong? I know how to put in graphics cards... I put in my 8600 back when i got it.

Sounds like you forgot to plug in the PCI-E power cord for your video card. You have to on the 8800 series. Or it will yell at you (one long high pitch screech noise).

No voltage changes. You're good to go after that cable is plugged in.

My sig rig is my first computer which was built last year. Let me tell you. The next day after putting everything together, I turned the computer off to do some cable management. After I finished rewiring everything, I hit the power up. My system went "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKK!!!!!" I nearly wet my pants and pulled out all my hair. I panic and turned the computer off and had a rush of fright down my spine. T_T"
