Need help on my OC I did.

Here are my settings

I wanted to OC my computer but nothing extreme. The problem is that it isnt that stable. Everytime I play Crysis or COD4, it crashes. What can I do to make it more stable?

I have a Nvidia 8800 GTX and Win XP

Try +0.1 to FSB overvolt and G(MCH) that helped me get stable at 3.2ghz

Im sorry but I dont know what those mean, also is it alright to have the ram underclocked at 710?

Raising a voltage setting or two should do the trick. Can you post your other voltages (FSB, SPP, MCP etc.) as set in your BIOS (your cpu voltage will be higher than cpu-z shows)? You almost certainly need to raise your vcore (cpu voltage) a bit, and you'll probably want to raise one or two other voltage settings, but it's hard to tell what to do w/out knowing what things are currently set at. Oh, and you'll probably want to link and sync your RAM, at least until you get stable (yes, it'll run slower than spec, but that's ok right now).

3.2 ghz on a 2.4 ghz chip isn't extreme, but it's nothing to sneeze at. In any case, shouldn't be hard to stabilize.

edit: I'm not familiar with your board's BIOS; you may have to do some work to figure out what the current settings are.

Underclocking RAM shouldn't be a problem, especially if it's because it's linked/sync'd.

So I should link my ram? If I do, I believe it will be clocked at 1050 ish. Is that alright? My Vcore is at 1.368

I set my memory to unlinked,I use to run the same setup except ram(OCZ),and I had no problems getting 3.2 if you go unlinked get as close to default 800Mhz as you can stable. I can't remember all the settings as of now,but if like seward suggest if you post pics I think we can get you to 3.2 or beyond.

only reason i had it underclocked to 710 was because ive read something about the 1:1 ratio. does it have to be 1:1 or just close to it?

Also it seems my computer only freezes/crashes on the more recent games such as crysis/COD4 which are more resource intensive. Could it be my graphics card overheating? I've read however that the GTX can withstand temps as much as 80C or more. the graphics card is at stock settings.

Heres rest of the settings for my OC

Vcore: 1.36250
Mem Voltage: 2.085
NB Voltage: 1.563

i linked my memory and its at 426 with timings 4-4-4-12-20-2T.
How effective is a ram ratio of 16:15? Should i adjust to keep it 1:1?

are these settings stable?

your mem should be fine on that divider but you should test it with everest or sandra to see where you sweet spot is.

have you tried the same speeds with 1.39v to the nb? i only ask as i think that heat is causing the crashes m8, that board really needs better cooling and the 88gtx gets really warm next to your nb so....
