DFI DK P35-T2RS or Abit IP35Pro

Thread Starter
After seeing the specs and pricing for the upcoming p45's (which seem too pricey for my purposes) i've narrowed it down to these two boards.
I'm not a l33t overclocker so i'm a bit scared of the uber-complex DFI bios,
but I've heard it oc's quads much better (and would be a better longterm overclocker). I want to move my E6400 up to a quad penryn when the prices go down. I've heard a lot of good about both boards, but i'm still not sure which to choose. What do ya'll think?

DFI. I got this board a relative noob, yet managed to make it to 3.4 in under a fortnight. There's an excellent thread dedicated to this board, and numerous people on here that will be able to help you out.

Not only has it got great tweak-ability, but its got a decent layout, well made, nice (i think) colour scheme, good cooling.. And so on..

DFI...

I was worried about the bios also... But it's really not that complicated.
There are a lot of fine tunning options available but so far I've not even touched those and hit 4ghz very easily.

And if you want to do more fine tuning the option is there and you can always ask for help on it.

dfi to i got my q6600 to 3600 for daily and 4ghz to run a benchmark.

Do you know if the abit supports 3rd party coolers for the NB? I think DFI voids the warranty. How far do you think i'd be able to push my E6400 and Corsair 6400 C4's with the DFI?

well i pushed my e6600 to 3760 on my dfi the abit has a heatpipe setup so you probly wont need to replace it. But the dfi pwm and chipset runs really cool even with a quad.

Either one is fine. It comes down to the perference - User friendly or more tweaks. If you want to fill 13 or 14 options in BIOS and the rig is ready to go, then Abit is the way to go. Otherwise, it is DFI. However, we have many DFI owners and threads here so this won't be an issue.
