Yeah, it really depends on the processor stepping. My old E6600 is hotter than my new Q6600 G0.

But for the latest processors, I think swiftech's calculator is the most relastic.

All of the others calculate power consumption which is higher than real. You actually loose a fair amount of heat into the motherboard and out the backside.

Anyhow, select the conro or kentsfield, plug in your Vcore and speed, and it'll return a bunch of stuff include heat load depending on the load program. Pretty cool little tool.

Heat load on a Kentsfield can be anywhere from 90 stock to over 220watts overclocked or even more.
