Quick Question About G6 266 Overspeed

Thread Starter
My computer is a Gateway Pentium II 266 mhz. When I set it to overclock to 300 I get nothing but a blank screen, when I set it at 333 I get 133. Machine won't accept anything higher than the 266. Anyone no why and can it be configured to overspeed? Or do I just need to use overspeed software? Thanks ahead!

I downloaded SoftFSB and I was able to get 320 mhz with relative ease. Is there a table on here that shows how high you can go safely? Sorry for the newbie questions, but I'm new to this overclocking thing.

To be honest I'd say that 320mhz is about as far as that will go. I'm suprised you got it that high anyway.

Best bet would be to upgrade to something more modern, if your wallet will allow it.
