The Good

* Mature, brilliantly imagined game world is a pleasure to explore
* Exciting combat keeps you constantly involved
* Many quests are powerfully written and have emotional impact
* Varied classes make both team and solo play equally viable
* You can tear a man's heart out of his chest and eat it.

The Bad

* A large number of server- and client-side bugs
* Lacks noncombat activities that would help mix things up
* Various pacing issues and other minor flaws.
Source

TL;DR, score was 8.5

Not sure I'd enjoy that.... Each to his own I guess?

What is a person such as you doing reading a news post about Age of Conan if you wouldn't relish such an opportunity?

Yea this game is awesome, most of the crashes have been fixed already. All the cons gamestop gave it are on the devs "to-do" list and should be fixed soon.

That's why you haven't been on OCN.

It's interesting that WoW got 9.5 on release

Thats because when WoW came out they were comparing it to games like Everquest and Dark Age of Camelot. To get an 8.5 when being compared to WoW is a major accomplishment. I think if Gamespot went back and reviewed WoW 1.0 it might have squeaked by with an 8.0.

All of the cons mentioned can be easily fixed with patches and updates. All they have to do is follow the same system Blizzard uses by releasing smaller, free content updates instead of a paid expansion that comes out practically every month. I mean, if you go into any Gamestop/EB you're almost guaranteed to find an "Everquest <insert precious metal> Edition" That literally comes with over 12 expansions.

I don't have reliable computer access right now (typing this using my ubuntu live CD) so I can't try this game yet but I really, really, want to!
